Dog Days Sales of August

The first weekend of August all the stores in Mid-City (14th and U Street, NW) will participate in a weekend-long sidewalk sale. It is an annual event not to be missed. You'll find great deals and have a lot of fun at the same time as it can get kind of crazy... Go to http://www.14thandu.org for more details.

The Dog Days Sales is the biggest sale of the year we have at Garden District. Annuals will be marked down 50%, perennials 40%, trees and shrubs 30%, pottery 30%, fertilizers, mulch and tools 20%.

The summer annuals will still bloom until about the first frost, but your perennials, trees, and shrub will continue to live on and thrive in your garden. The Dog Days Sale is a great time to fill up the garden and make it nice.

In addition, the DC Sales Tax Holiday will be August 5-13th. Another great reason to shop in DC next weekend. Although, this will apply to mostly clothing and school supplies. It will apply, however, to garden gloves and hats...

See you at the sale.
